Scans (x-rays, CTs, MRIs, etc)
Referrals to specialists
Functional healthcare
Functional testing
In Alberta, Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are nurses (RNs) with a special master’s degree which, similar to medical doctors (MDs), are allowed to see patients in medical clinics and hospitals. They have the competence and are licensed to:
Provide comprehensive health assessments
Diagnosis of illness and health conditions
Treat and manage acute and chronic illness, perform procedures
Order and interpret screening and diagnostic / laboratory testing
